At Unite Students, we hope to be an influence in the life of your kids. However, we know that we aren't the ONLY influence. In fact, students are only here at the church for up to 0.6% of their year. That means that 99.4% of that time they are with someone else. Fortunately, a lot of that time is spent with you, their parents, which means you have a greater influence on your kids than we do. But we want to help!
We believe that two combined influences can have a much greater impact than just separate influences. In other words, we are better together. When we are on the same page, pulling in the same direction and saying the same things, imagine what we can do together for your kids.
Wednesday Nights
Every Wednesday night students will gather in small groups where they'll hang out, have a devotional, play some games, and have a snack. There are groups for each age group, you can find more information on the individual groups here.
Doors open on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM and small groups begins at 7:00 PM. The Bear Campus meets in the lower level of the Bear Campus, and the Middletown Campus meets at Brick Mill Elementary School.
United Night
On the second Wednesday of the month, your students will not have small groups. Instead, we have a service called United Night. These nights when all grades from all campuses meet in one room for a bigger worship experience, guest speakers, and free food! You won’t want to miss this service! This service meets at the Bear Campus from 7PM - 8:30PM.
Content
One question that we often get about Unite Students has to do with the content that we cover. Basically, what they want to know is, “Will you be talking about sex?” The answer is yes… but not every week, and probably not week one.
The truth of the matter is that this is about the time when students begin to get curious about the opposite sex, and while we won’t sit them down and have a “the birds and the bees” talk, we will be talking about appropriate boundaries and when God intended when he created sex. So, if you haven’t started that conversation, it might be time to start thinking about it.
Age Breakdown
Another question we get is, “Are they all in there together?” In other words, “Will my 6th grade daughter be sitting between two senior football players in service?” The answer to that is, “probably not.” There are times when we will all gather in the same room, but it’s no different than being in a movie theater or at the mall. All ages, grades, and genders are together in these places and it’s fine!
The truth is, senior football players aren’t going to want to sit by your 6th grader any more than you want your 6th grader sitting by them. Not that they will be rude about it, but they won’t be seeking it out to be sure! Most of the time, students stick to other students like them. Seniors are going to sit with their junior and senior friends, 10th graders are going to be seeking out their 9th and 10th grade friends, and 6th graders are going to be hanging out with other 6th and 7th graders.
